This week’s installment is all about the best part of the marine aquarium hobby… maintenance! Okay, so a bit sarcastic!
We walk through our entire maintenance schedule, on all five tanks! There are daily, weekly, and semi-annual tasks to complete. It usually takes about 2-3 hours, but this one took a bit longer!
Daily Tasks:
– Feed
– Dose 2-part solution (calcium/alkalinity)
– Check temperature
Weekly Tasks:
– Clean algae off glass
– Dust lights
– Fill RO/DI reservoirs
– Make new RO/DI water
– Make saltwater
– Gravel vacuum the sandbed
– Feed anemones
– Clean skimmer cup
Semi-Annual
– Soak and clean all pumps in vinegar
